Isle of Man Steam Packet

The ferry operator Isle of Man Steam is the oldest continually operating shipping company in the world. The Isle of Man Steam Package began operations in 1830. At that time the ferry operator was called Mona's Isle Company after the company's first ferry of the same name.

In both WWI and WWII the Isle of Man Steam Package ferries and crew were actively involved, acquitting themselves with honour in both instances. Nowadays the Isle of Man Steam Packet operates regular ferry crossings to Isle from the ferry ports of Heysham, Liverpool, Belfast and Dublin. Both high speed craft and conventional ferries make up the current fleet. The ferry operator transports about 600,000 passengers every year 170,000 cars motorcycles.

Extra sailings are scheduled during times of high demand such as the T.T. period. The Isle of Man T.T. Race Festival takes place every year late in May/early June.
